Where to Eat: “12 munchies”

Dearest T and I finally payed a visit to 12 munchies, whose Facebook page allured us for such a long time with delicious looking treats. We decided to go to their Aumannplatz subsidiary and have some girl talk with coffee and something sweet.

And I can tell you, we will be back.

It was hard to decide for a treat, because everything on display looked absolutely scrumptious. But we were given all the time we needed. Choosing a coffee variety was much easier – Look at this selection!
Banana bread, chocolate bread, chocolate marzipan pie, muffins, brownies, scones, cupcakes, cookies… It’s just too much. (In a good way.)

But we did it. T decided to have a Cheesecake Brownie and I picked a Blueberry Scone. We also got a Latte Macchiato and a Melange and sat down on the cosy couch. What’s great: You can have a glass of water whenever you want, just walk over to the water jug and serve yourself.

T’s Cheesecake Brownie (I had a bite) was extremely chocolatey with a nice fresh cheesecake topping. Perfect for chocolate lovers. (Not so much for me.)

And I loved my Blueberry Scone! It tasted like butter, blueberries and love. It was great. Perfect with coffee. I want to have another one right now.

12 munchies - Blueberry Scone

The price of 3,50 € and 2,90 € is maybe a bit high if I think about what it would cost me if I baked it myself. But thinking about all the other costs a little shop like that has to deal with, it’s quite okay. Also, nobody goes there every day – That would be far to unhealthy for you ;-) – and for this one special treat to indulge in, I’m sure you want to pay for quality and freshness.

But not only our baked goods were great, also the atmosphere in the little shop. Aside from the perfect interior design  of this 12 munchies subsidiary, everyone coming in seemed to know each other. So many little kindergarten children walked in with their parents and picked out their afternoon treats – Cake Pops were especially popular.

A little girl sitting vis-à-vis was eating one of those M&M’s-cookies – It was so big it looked like a full meal for her. And she was enjoying it to the full! I just love how children can eat anything without thinking about it being healthy or not. Loved that.

But at 12 munchies, there are not only sweet things to treat you with but also savoury goods like sandwiches and quiches. They look great, too, and I’d love to have one of them for a snack.

The nice guy behind the counter was friendly to everyone and joked around with all the children. We felt very welcome. But I think it will be very hard so get a place to sit down most of the time – There are only few seats available on the cosy couches and about three chairs in the little shop. But now that it’s getting warm, it would be great to take something yummy and sit outside in the sun!

Characteristic: Come in and feel like a part of the family. Choice of treats changes every day – So they come fresh from the oven!
