Veggie Burger

For the patty, you need:

1 onion
1 clove of garlic
1 large carrot, grated
125 g unripe spelt grain, coarsely grinded
125 ml milk
2 tablespoons ground almonds
1 tablespoon curd cheese
1 egg
herbal salt, pepper, olive oil
(adapted from “Papa Löwes Kochbuch”)

Chop the onion and the garlic and sweat it in olive oil. Then, add the carrot and roast it a bit. Add the unripe spelt grain and the milk. Let it cook at small heat until the mass gets quite dry. Then, put the pot off the heat, add the ground almonds, the curd cheese and the egg. Stir and season well.

With wet hands, shape 4-6 patties and put them in the pre-heated oven at 200° C / 470° F. It takes about half an hour, flip them in between.

They’re yummy just like this, but when you want to have a burger, you need cheese and vegetables.

I took feta, field salad, radish, cucumber and tomatoes.
